GIRL!

We're both so excited to be welcoming our little girl this fall and Chris is already working on a plan to get her into a women's football league. We're both overwhelmed by the idea of needing to learn to actually do hair and possibly have a makeup-loving teen (Bre hasn't purchased makeup since 2017 LOL).

Baby girl is looking great and is tracking right around the 49th percentile for growth and size (that's a great thing!). We will have a second scan around 26 weeks to check on her development and her heart; this scan is highly recommended due to her being an IVF baby. Also we want to get a couple more pictures since she decided to lay face-down the whole hour-long scan no matter what the ultrasound tech or Bre did to try to encourage her to move around.

The bad news we got from the appointment: Bre has a low-lying placenta and has been placed on a 15-lb weight limit for lifting. While she can continue basic exercise like walking, she can't do anything that can engage or stress her abdominal muscles. No horseback riding (the worst one out of this list) or hikes with large hills. This wasn't caused by anything we did or could have done differently, just an unfortunate hand we were dealt.

Because of this, the pregnancy is now considered high risk and we'll be seeing our doctor every two weeks to make sure Yinglett and Bre are doing okay. We'll do another scan to check on the placenta placement in the next month or so and there is a chance as baby grows this issue will fix itself. We'd love for prayers specifically that it does so Bre isn't stuck on such a strict lifting limit until September! Also, this condition does come with a higher risk for mandatory C-section, which we'd love to not be forced into.

We've been asked about our registry and were just waiting to find out the gender before publicly releasing it. We added a page to our site with a link to it, or you can find it by clicking the button below.
