8 Week Update

Thursday (1/26) was our first ultrasound in two weeks. We were both pretty nervous going into it as this stage of pregnancy is unknown to us. We did see a flicker of a heartbeat at the last ultrasound, but it wasn't strong enough to track.
At this ultrasound, we were blessed with hearing a strong heartbeat and to be honest, we both wept tears of joy. To hear such a STRONG heartbeat was what we needed to make it past a huge mental hurdle in this journey. You can listen to the video below! (Chris didn't know you can actually hear the heartbeat, he always thought it was just on the screen LOL)
What's next? We stay with our fertility clinic until we hit the 12 week mark with two more scheduled ultrasounds. Our next one is for 10 weeks on February 9th. Bre gets to start weaning off the fertility meds at 10 weeks, which we are both excited about as it's a huge mental load to balance our lives around shots and taking meds and will help us financially be able to start saving again. We're both grateful to see an end to those four-inch long intramuscular needles coming up shortly.
How can you pray for us the next two weeks?
Bre is still dealing with all-day sickness. The clinic started her on nausea meds since she lost a lot of weight in the 2 weeks since we last saw the clinic but we would love for her to not have to be reliant on one more medication. Pray that she's able to build strength while taking this med and can get some more energy through the day.
Pray baby Yinglett continues to grow as they should and keeps that heartbeat strong.
Peace for us in this uncharted territory (for us). While this mental hurdle was a massive one to get through, we're still waiting for the "shoe to drop" so to speak. We've been conditioned at this point to expect failure; pray that we look into the future with positivity and not pessimism.
