First off, thank you to everyone who has prayed, reached out and supported us this far. We have felt the prayers and appreciate every one!

We had a second HCG test on January 2 and passed with flying colors. The number this time was 1,964 meaning it had gone up more than needed to confirm that our little Yinglett(s) were growing. Our first ultrasound was January 11 to see if there are one or two sacs as well as confirming our Yinglett(s) is where it should be.

At our ultrasound we confirmed... there is ONE wonderful looking baby. Our doctor thinks the other embryo never implanted, which means we made the correct choice to transfer two to increase our chance for one. Since we didn't genetically test our embryos, there's no way for us to know which ones have abnormalities that cause them to not be a viable pregnancy.

We saw a small flicker of a heartbeat but it was too early to hear. Yinglett looks healthy and the flicker of a heartbeat was SO encouraging for us to see.

We are both overjoyed yet mourning our lost little one, which makes our joy a little complicated. We are overjoyed at a healthy and thriving embryo, but we do mourn the other one that didn't make it the same way we would mourn if a transfer failed.

Our next ultrasound is January 26 where we should be able to hear a heartbeat and see a more developed embryo. Bre's currently dealing with a rough first trimester and has napped more than she ever has in her whole life. All day morning sickness has not been kind to her and she's never been happier to have a job that allows her to work from the couch.

Specific prayer requests as we go into the next two weeks:

  • That baby Yinglett keeps growing and developing as they should

  • Peace for both of us. We've never made it this far and keep waiting for the bad news that typically hits us to hit.

  • The morning sickness to calm down so Bre can eat and be functional
